Jim, Thanks - I'm convinced that the anchor feature is a great thing to have from all the reports and personal testimonies I've read and received. I was just concerned about the coil cord taking several wraps around the shaft. I think it was because of the radical non-directional wind gusts we were encountering. I'm anxious to see if the "smart motor" unwinds the coils as Dave Sellers has said it will next time I fish with Ed - or if he reports it does next time he is on the water using the anchor feature. I've got two (one brand new) Minn Kota Riptide Auto Pilots, one on my skiff and one in reserve so it will be awhile before In invest in a new motor unless I can sell the two I've got to offset the expense of getting an I-pilot.
