I am a big Yamaha fan but any of the top brands will fit the bill. I prefer the 4-stroke, it has good fuel economy and is very quiet. The newer 2-strokes, like the E-TEC have great hole shots and are very fast, along with good fuel economy. Buying a used motor is always a crap shoot. Some guys are looking to up grade but some are just trying to dump their problem motor off on some one else. You also don't know how well a used motor was maintained by the previous owner(s).
