I had the old Powerdrive motor/18' wired remote and then bought the wireless I-pilot when it came out. I updated the mounting brackets to the new HDPE plastic system so I can run both/either if I want to. I-pilot on the transom and Powerdrive on the bow.

But mostly I just have the I-pilot on the transom and don't use the Powerdrive anymore just to keep the clutter down on the bow. If I want to cast a shoreline, it only takes me about a minute to move the I-pilot up to the bow and the gps tracking/nav system is so handy, the Powerdrive just can't compare anymore.

I have separate battery supplies , bow and stern, dedicated to electric motors so I can unplug and move a motor or use both without schlepping batts or cordage around.
