The Whistler!!! Which shouldnt be a suprise to anyone around northern Calif. considering the invetor Mr. Dan Blanton is from around here!! I have been playing around with this fly for about 6 to 9 months and after the e-mails I've been getting asking what I'm useing over the past year, here it is!! The good thing about this fly is that your not going to get anything uder 5 lbs to even look at it but the grabs are INCREDIBLE!!! Now for the bad.... according to my good friend Steve over at the Calif. Fly shop, You need to have a construction hard hat to cast it!!LOL

To start things off I couldnt get normal bead chains to turn over the fly the way I wanted to and with replacing it with a dummbell I lost the whistling sound. After having some Striper conversations with Steve he tossed me a strand of bead chains that are 1/2 inch in diameter!! Yeah,I know this sounds crazy but " NO Guts,No Glory!!". I found out that in the beginningthere was no way to throw it with anything less than a 10 wt. because alone the bead chain dummbell weighed 133.6 grns!!! Time to brake out the T-17 & T-20!! The reason why I stayed with this monster was because the water it pushed was INCREDIBLE!!!! not to mention the jigging motion/ rattle in the head. I've posted a picture of the natural one I've been using. Give it a try and HOLD ON!!!! :) A
