Teflon lubricant in an automatic shotgun turns to gum. I know, your fry pan etc., but I have found teflon powder unsatisfactory when subjected to high heat. If you get lucky your drag could get pretty darn hot. I would be leery of using teflon based lubricant in a big-game reel.
