We've heard this all before; but I can tell you what you suggest happens so little it is a non-issue. I've only eye hooked one or two fish out of hundreds hooked on jig hooks as opposed to hundreds hooked in the gill rakers with J hooks over the years. I've never brain-stuck a fish either. I'm sure it can happen but it's very rare.
Are you suggesting too that we all stop fishing with Clouser style flies and also Bend Back styles - all those ride hook-point-up.
You're wasting your time trying to convince me about something you actually have no personal angling experience with. Jig hooks save profoundly more fish than they kill.
