From manufacturers to retailers the fly-fishing business has taken a hard hit. Competition among tackle makers is increasingly competitive, especially for high markup products. I noticed recently that several posts and responses concerning various Abel products greatly resemble press releases but do not purport to be such. The former involvement of Andrew and Mark Madoff in the upper management of Abel Holdings LLC. could have some ongoing repercussions.
The conjunction of these factors piqued my curiosity. The Abel financials are not easily accessible. I would be happy to hear from a credible source that Abel is prospering. Consumer questions about the liquidity of a corporation are so common as to seldom cause alarm, and consumers have a right to information about a corporation whose products they consider purchasing.
There is an impressive amount of knowledge about fishing, fishing products, and fishing manufacturers among contributors at this site so it seemed a logical place to ask my question. That is the rationale and the purpose of my post.
