These fish and the location were magical. The area is extremely well managed and a day's (or longer) fishing there is an experience of a lifetime. You are well taken care for in the small camp and you'll never fish the lakes with more than only a hand full of people.
Besides grayling and char, there are also some very big brown trout in the lakes. We didn't encounter any on our trip, but they are quite common at certain times.

Dan, certain pools were absolutely fishable with a single hand rod and shooting lines. On most pools however, backcast room is extremely limited or even not available at all. Besides that, the lack of rod length and greatly limits your ability to mend the line to keep it in a perfect run. Casting distance is another limitation. The guys I witnessed, who were most successful were costantly punching out forty yard casts.

Cheers,
Jeroen
