Hi Noel,
Thanks, the fly is a large caddis imitation tied by a Scottish trout guide for my host. We mainly fished sedges and caddis imitations during the day. Some of the grayling we caught on small emergers. The char have a broad diet. They like to munch on big insects during the day, but develop an interest in midges that come out in the zillions, when the evening falls.
