Knots rely upon friction to remain secure. In "Civil Engineering Portal" David J. Lee reports: "PTFE [fluorocarbon] has the lowest static and dynamic friction of any solid"
Advertising aside, the physical fact that fluorocarbon is apparently the slipperiest solid substance known to engineers does not recommend its use to haul in fish, no matter what knot is employed.
