I will say this. I have more Abels than I should have. I have never had a mechanical problem with any of them. However, I know we're talking about a rod, not a reel. In any event, I have had reasons to contact customer service over the years. Jeff has Always been prompt, curtious and even gave me more inofrmation than I requested. In short, I take him at his word as he has never given me reason no to over the years. My 2 cents.
