George... I use to do a lot of scuba diving and I needed corrective lenses on my masks. There are three options... (Well four including yours which sound pretty poor.) One option is to find a serious scuba shop that carries masks with lenses that can be replaced with off the shelf corrective lenses. Not all manufacturer make corrective lenses for their masks which will severely limit you choice. The lenses won't be perfect correction, but they're usually good enough under water. Another other option is to find a place that will make a set of corrective lenses for your mask. I ran into a company few years ago that would install the corrective lenses on the inside of your mask lenses. I think they were full size. They were a little pricey but would have provided the best correction. You could search for them on line or easier yet... your optometrist should have a source for this service. The third option is correction by either contact lenses or laser surgery... I always opted for the first since it was the cheapest and easiest and my correction is about 3.5.
