|You probably already knew that kokanee are land locked sockeye, as Peter said. But you are correct, they are the same only different! What I want to know is if sockeye must have a lake in their natal river. I have read that this is essential for the juvenile fish to grow out a little before they hit the salt. Salmon are amazing. They are all almost the same but each one occupying a slightly different niche in terms of spawning strategy and timing. |
