I guess I'll just have to try it now that you throw that out there, a nine weight is what I have so I'm pretty sure I have 30 lb backing on it, and a Lamson reel. I agree about the meat greed, the lack of salmon season has everyone just hammering everything they can get their hands on. I feel sorry for the rockfish and halibut, too. Greg
