Since nobody has answered, I'll post a reply. I'm new to fly fishing so take it for what it's worth. When I was doing my research, it was that I get three lines for my rods. I have two Xi2 9wt & one Xi2 8wt. 9wt rods: 9wt ROS (full) Intermediate & 9wt ROS floating. 10wt ROS floating was also suggested. 8wt rod: 8wt ROS sinking (WF8I/S6) or Custom Cut T-14 cut to 28'. Couple things about these two suggestions. First, there is a big difference in weight between the two. The 28' of T-14 is 392gr. The 8wt is 315gr. You could always move up to 9wt ROS which is 375gr. Second, the ROS actually has a taper. The Custom Cut has a level line. I like the lines I have on my 9wt rods. Still trying to decide the best fast sink line for me. Hope that helps.
