Go away cork? NEVER! I'm sorry, but EVA foam leaves my hand red and scaly. I ended up selling a spinning rod after a few times use because the EVA was so damaging. If the day comes that all fly rods have EVA handles, I will strictly build my rods and start making my own grips using wine bottle cork.
