Like the majority of anglers, I fish mainly in my native land, which happens to be the U.S.A.. I'm sure my countrymen could join me in listing native fisheries which have declined in the past decade or two, especially fly fishing fisheries which have deteriorated.
Exotic fly fishing destinations requiring lots of cash, multitudes of security hassles, and grueling hours of travel seem to monopolize discussion of productive fly fishing destinations. This may be the result of fish populations vulnerable to inept fly anglers rather than the health of the local fishery, but in any case, I would love to hear about domestic fisheries for fly anglers which have improved in the past decade or so.
