Twisted leaders aren't as good for abrasion resistance. For abrasion resistance hard nylon is still the best choice and for stealth as well too. I get a lot more hookups in the Keys with traditional leaders - I tried twisted ones for several seasons - they turned flies over nicely but fish would shy away from them especially in the middle of tarpon season.
