Everyone wears a pfd in my boat at all times- underway, fishing, anchored. No exceptions except when we are pulled up on a gravel bar. I have had friends say they did not want to wear one and it was their decision. I totally agree with that position and then I tell them it is my decision if they are getting in my boat. No pfd you ain't going. Alaska waters are cold and fast and you have minutes to live if you fall in. The other rule is no alcohol.
I carry extras for everyone in case they forget theirs. I bought the cabelas ones Dan recommended. They are very comfortable. Does anyone know if TSA permits us to check inflatable pfds with the CO2 cartridges? I have thought about taking one to Belize or Mexico but I never have. |
