I fished Chetumal Bay with Paradise Lodge for a day this past August. The guide picked out a #6 Gotcha for bonefish and a #2 Merkin crab for permit. I wound up mostly fishing a mud with the Merkin and also a #6 tan Raghead crab. Caught bones, jacks, and even a small permit. Get a hold of The Fly Shop in Redding, California and ask them to e-mail you their weekly Paradise Lodge reports. Those would give you some hints about the region.
