|Off ocean rocks, on fly gear, GT's and Yellow Tail kings, in the 50lb and up class.|
I've had them on, lots of times, but they seem to break anything and everything attached to them. The little ones, up to 25lb are tough enough.
9 foot whaler sharks are also a bit tough.
I once had a tuna in the 150lb class take a lead head jig off a rock, at Red bluff here in WA, but it looked a bit on the big side so I did nothing and it spat the jig out.The two guys with me, both had "more guts" hooked a couple and lost all of their line in about 6 seconds.
Rodney has a story about a biggish Black Bass, a boat, tied end to end on two trees, and a 50lb live bait outfit, with a live tilapia attached, with the drag screwed right up tight with a multigrip, and explosion of line and rod breaking and a departing denisen of those Nuginea creeks. Rather hilarious.
Tell 'em Harro.
