Here's the fly I've been using all summer and on those albies Henry, Ricky and I found. It's a very simple pattern; tail of craft fur or bucktail+saddles, and a head of a synthetic dubbing called Senyo's Lazer Dub, which you tie on the shank in clumps, comb out and fix into the shape of a fish head/body with some kind of flexible glue coating, like Tuffleye or Liquid Fusion. The Lazer Dub gets a little translucent in the water, like the belly of a real bay anchovy or silverside. Of course, BobPop's Surf Candy remains the best albie fly of all time, but we always have to tinker ....
