It seemed from the video that the fish were being a bit fussy. Were they? Lots of casts into the bucket without a grab.
I recall the few times I fished Alberts at Harkers Island, what retrieve worked best for me on breezing or busting fish, was an almost dead slow, twitching retrieve that kept the fly in the bait looking injured. The "I" line was perfect for that. I'll bet they would have eaten a mini Gurgler just twitched to.
Makes me wish I was back there with you guys for that action.
