| I also agree about leaving the 12 home. I had one during my three weeks in the Keys this year and didn't use it once. A ten is all you need and that's even more true for tarpon most everywhere else. Depending upon where you're headed, you'd also use the 6 weight just recommended for bonefish. Even on Andros, where the fish tend to run bigger than most other areas of the Caribbean, I almost always use a six if the wind is down. In Mexico or Belize I would consider it my #1 bonefish setup and would use it until the winds hit 15 knots or so and then I'd move to the 8 weight. |
