|I received the following e-mail from Randy Imai, DFG.|
Again, if anyone has information, please forward it to the numbers listed in Mr. Imai's e-mail.
Glad to see DFG on the trail and hope the questions regarding the situation are quickly answered.
Start of e-mail:
Your report posted on your California Fisheries Network website of the unconfirmed fish kill at Pittsburg Chevron plant was read by one of our California Department of Fish and Game (CDFG) Marine Biologist and forwarded to me.
Just to let you know that we contacted our local CDFG Water Quality Biologist and Warden familiar with the Bay/Delta to see if they could ascertain the location through your posted photographs and investigate the kill. Our warden indicated that there has been some recent fish kills attributed to red tides but would of course have to investigate this further to assess the situation to determine cause.
We appreciate your network and your members in educating and informing the public regarding California fisheries and water news through the California Fisheries Network website. I encourage your member to report factual information regarding poachers and polluters to CalTIP (Californians Turn In Poachers and Polluters).
