Hey Richard,

I label all my fly lines, including heads. Done.

For T-14, I label the length: (i.e. 27.7')

For heads and sink tips, I label the grain weight:
(i.e. 275 gr.)

For weight forward lines, I label the weight and type of line: (i.e. 8wf)

Same for Double Taper lines: (i.e. 4dt)

Etc., etc.

Labeling is very easy once you get into it, and eliminates all doubt for future reference.

Be sure to use a laser printer so the tiny print will be sharp and clear. You will be amazed how small the tag really needs to be!!
You can make up your own, or purchase one of John Ryzanich's Softex labeling systems.

In addition, I use 1" round tags, with the string loop, to ID the lines once they are on the reel/spool. Each pouch has a tag attached with the line ID printed. When I get back from a trip, I remove the line from the reel, place the line spool back into the box, for easy ID later. I simply remove the tag, from the pouch, and drop it into a cup for the future.

Hope this helps.

Lee
