It's fall Steelhead time now.......

|September, October and November are top months for classic Steelheading which is swinging classic winged Steelhead patterns on a floating line.|
There are many nice "long" rivers in Nor Cal, Oregon, Washington and British Columbia for fall Steelheading.
I like the Klamath, Trinity, Rogue, Umpqua, Deschutes, and Grand Ronde because they are not that far and you can drive to them.
With the warmer fall water temperatures the fish will actually move to the fly, especially early and late in the day with the low light levels.
**Right now there is a big run of small Half-pounder Steelhead in the Klamath River.
