This is an excellent knot for tippets of all sizes, from 8X to big game bite tippets of 100# or more, providing that the hook size is appropriate to the tippet size. It is extremely easy to tie and, if tightened according to the illustration, uses practically no tippet material.
Break strength is 100% for both Nylon and Fluorocarbon materials if two finish turns, as shown, are used for Copolymers and three turns for Fluorocarbon. Use one turn for knotable wire or shock tippets of 40# or more.
When using a multi-strand wire tippet pull the tag tight first, to prevent curl. 
On Fluorocarbon, do not moisten with Saliva, use water or nothing.
